Initiative title:

Ready, Set, Grow: Raising Healthy Kids

Published for:

Produced in cooperation with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP)

Distribution:

To parents of children ages 5 and above through the offices of up to 7,000 Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) who cater to and are concerned with the health of children ages 5 and above. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners diagnose illnesses, dispense prescriptions and make recommendations for the overall health of their patients. Their scope of advice includes nutrition, exercise, family well-being, and the prevention and treatment of childhood diseases. In this capacity, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are uniquely positioned to offer Ready, Set, Grow, which has been handed out to the parents of 1,000,000 children since Spring 2006, and thereafter to 1 million families annually.

Objective:

To enhance the health of children by dispensing information on and inspiration for health and wellness in today’s families. Many Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are the children’s primary caregivers and as such have influential one-on-one relationships with the both children and their parents. PNPs thereby affect the health of not only their patients, but of families and future generations.
